8 linear actuators, 3000 N, UL approved, move the aluminium louvers, while 18 actuators of the same specification are responsible for the adjustment of the PV louvers. Corresponding motor grouping enables the independent movement of PV and aluminium blades.

Sun tracking aluminium louvers and tailor-made photovoltaic louvers arranged alternately cover most of the south facade of the primary school in Albion. Energy supplier, eye-catcher and demonstration project at the same time. The PV louvers also perform sun protection functions and are installed in front of the windows. The aluminium louvers adorn the opaque clinker brick areas and visually design the transition between the transparent glazing surfaces. The primary school children are to be sensitised to renewable energies and the functioning of PV is to be made clear.

System

PV and aluminium louvers are supported by the same substructure and mechanics. The PV louvers consist of frameless laminated safety glass with highly transparent low-iron front glass. Due to the large static span, aluminium torsion tubes were used. The horizontal louvers are combined into fields of defined size. The PV and motor cabling is largely system-integrated and concealed. Solar tracking ensures optimal energy generation and shading and prevents mutual module shading. Perfect module design, integrated cabling, silent operation, to name just a few features. Both louvers are 500mm deep. The system output is approx. 32 kWp. 3 grid-tied inverters, each with 12kW capacity round off the PV concept and feed the generated energy into the house grid.
